Feeding Programmes at Mpemba and Chipwepwete Rural schools

Our Feeding Programmes provide school lunches for over 2,500 every school day.  Children come to school because of the promise of food, but they only get food if they attend class.  Food for the stomach and food for the mind!

Lunch is a mug of maize porridge fortified with vitamins and is cooked in huge vats each of which serve 300 children.  The communities are responsible for preparing the porridge, each village surrounding the school providing 4-6 women each day to spend around three hours preparing, serving and clearing away.
