Amazing achievement by Toby

Toby climbed Snowdon yesterday to raise seed funding for a new library at Tapani Primary school, a remote rural school 10km from the tar road. Currently there are very few books at Tapani which makes teaching and learning hugely challenging.

The climb was really challenging for Toby as he expains 'I'm Toby and I'm 10 years old. I have spastic quadriplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, which means my arms and legs do not work properly, and so I cannot walk. However, I am full of determination and, on 14th July 2021, I am going to try and walk up Snowdon (1,072m up!). I will be putting one foot in front of the other just like you would (albeit a lot slower!), with the help of my walking sticks, to walk the 7.2km up Snowdon (and then back down!). The furthest I have ever walked is 5km so this is the Ultimate Challenge for me'

We are proud of Toby and thrilled he chose Hope4Malawi as one of the charities to raise funds for. Toby loves reading so it's fantastic he has helped us start our fundraising for the library. Thank you Toby.
