This Christmas, please help provide a desk for a child at school. Having a desk is life-changing for children in rural schools.

At the four primary schools Hope4Malawi partners with in Blantyre, Southern Malawi, at least 1,900 children still sit on the ground because they do not have a desk.

Many of these children do not even have a classroom. They learn outside, sitting under the trees. Writing is difficult, and lessons stop if it rains or is too hot.

For those who currently learn in a classroom, Hope4Malawi would like to provide every child with a desk to sit at.

Together, we can improve education and make a difference in the lives of hundreds of children. Thank you for your kind generosity.

Each desk for two to four children costs £42, and classrooms can hold 30 desks. By helping raise £11,340, we can buy 270 desks for nine classrooms.

Please help to get the children off the floor and seated at desks at school.

What a difference a desk can make

  • A classroom desk helps children to focus, listen and learn more effectively during lessons.

  • Children can learn to write properly as they have a flat surface to lean on. Sitting at a desk is better for a child’s health than sitting on dusty ground.

  • A classroom with desks supports teachers in creating a more structured and organised learning environment.

Thank you for your help
