Initiation ceremonies in rural malawi

The new library at Chipeptwete is seeing around 40 children and teachers using it each day after school. These numbers were lower during a week of initiation ceremonies in which some of the young teenage girls we know were subject to violence and sexual exploitation. This is why the ‘My Girl’ project, teaching mothers and girls about healthy relationships is so important and is already having a positive impact in the schools.
